Inro – Omodaka Flowers and Crane

Price on request.

A stunning three-case inro depicting the water flower Omodaka growing from the bottom of the case. One set of leaves is lacquered in gold and the other inlaid in pewter. The tiny white flowers with yellow centres are formed from ceramic inlay.

To the left-hand side of the case you see a pair of gold feet trailing. They work round the side of the case and to the front of the inro, where a huge crane in flight dominates the composition. Presumably, it has just taken off after fishing amongst the Omodaka.

The inro is inspired from those of Ritsuo with use of inlay from various materials. The risers to the inside of the inro are lacquered black and the compartments in red.
